Farm-to-glass cocktails with Alcomy Mobile Mixology

In the mood for a cocktail?

Brett Butler Owner/Operator Alcomy Mobile Mixology, specializes in ‘farm-to-glass’ cocktails using local ingredients as often as possible. And on today’s Indy Style, he shares the flavors… and the fun!

“Clover Club”

2 oz.  Gin

1 oz.  raspberry hibiscus
honey syrup

3/4 oz.  lemon juice

1   egg white

2  sprigs fresh rosemary

3 dashes rose water

Add all ingredients to mixing tin, dry shake to emulsify, add ice, wet shake to thoroughly mix and chill ingredients, and strain into coupe glass.  Garnish with lemon twist and fresh raspberries.

“Smoked Maple Old Fashioned”

3  oz.  Bourbon

.75 oz.  Vanilla Cinnamon Maple
syrup

2  dashes Angostura bitters

2  dashes orange bitters

Cherry wood chips

Dried herbs (rosemary or sage)

Add all ingredients to mixing
glass with ice, stirring 20-25 rotations.  Set aside.  On a cedar
plank or any wood surface suitable for smoking, place dried herbs on a small
pile of wood chips.  Smoke them with a culinary butane torch until smoke
appears.  Place glass over smoking embers for a few seconds, then strain
the drink into the glass.  Add large square or sphere ice cube to drink,
and garnish with an orange swath and Luxardo cherry.

Raspberry Hibiscus Honey Syrup:

1 cup pure cane sugar

1 cup clover honey

3 cups water

1 cup fresh raspberries

1 bar spoon or tablespoon hibiscus
powder or culinary grade hibiscus flowers

1 orange peel

Bring sugar, honey and water to a
boil, then simmer the rest of the ingredients for about 30-40 minutes. 
Let cool, and strain into a bottle.  Will keep 1-2 weeks refrigerated.

Old Fashioned Mix:

1 cup pure cane sugar

1 cup maple syrup

3 cups water

2 bar spoons or tablespoons pure
vanilla extract

5-6 cinnamon sticks

5-6 star anise, whole or broken

1 orange peel

Bring sugar, syrup and water to a boil, then simmer the rest of the ingredients for about 30-40 minutes.  Let cool, and strain into a bottle.  Will keep 1-2 weeks refrigerated.

“Lavender Lemonade”:

1  oz.  Blueberry
Lavender Sage syrup

2-3 fresh lemon wedges

2-3 sprigs fresh mint

Elderflower seltzer (or regular
will suffice)

Combine mint, lemon and blueberry
lavender sage syrup in a mixing tin.  Muddle all ingredients, add ice and
give it a quick shake.  Strain contents over ice and top with elderflower
seltzer.  Garnish with fresh blueberries and lemon swath sword and fresh
mint.
