The Gr8 paper push is going virtual! This morning, Margaret Sheehan, executive director of Teachers’ Treasures joined us on Indy Style to explain what’s different for teacher’s this year and why supporting this event is so important.
Each year, teachers spend an average of $500 to $1,000 of their own money on school supplies to support students who attend classes without the needed materials. During the Coronavirus pandemic, the need for school supplies has never been greater.
For the sixth year, WISH-TV is teaming up with Teachers’ Treasures, a free store for teachers, for the Gr8 Paper Push on August 5.
We Need Your Support
Due to the need for social distancing and the fact that many businesses are working with fewer employees in the office or with staff entirely remote, we’ve added new ways to join the Gr8 Paper Push.
- Form or join a Team: CLICK HERE to register your company on our Givebutter page. Encourage employees to donate to see which Gr8 Paper Push team can raise the most money.
- Purchase Supplies or Donate Money: Don’t have a team but still want to donate school supplies? CLICK HERE to buy the most requested classroom supplies or make a monetary donation on our Givebutter Page.
- Collect Supplies: If your company is operating as normal, we will gladly come by and pick up your school supply donations on August 5. Email us your contact information at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Drop Off Supplies to one of our area sponsors through August 7th, at any location listed in Map below.
For every $1 donated, Teachers’ Treasures is able to distribute $15 worth of school supplies to students and classrooms in need.
NOTE: You can watch the Gr8 Paper Push collections on Wednesday in all newscasts, and Indy Style.
