Historic Bar Crawl

It’s all about pairing history with brew, as part of a tour stop at the Conrad hotel. Indiana Humanities is introducing its 3rd annual historic bar crawl, called “PunchIN’ the Clock, where tour-goers will learn about the first stewardess strike in history.

This morning, Tracy chatted with a costumed interpreter portraying a stewardess during the tour stop at the hotel. Indianapolis-based Lake Central Airline Stewardesses held a strike in 1958 to protest the wages in a new contract. For 12 days, the ladies marched in their uniforms, heels, and “beauty queen-esque” sashes until they won better wages.

The tour takes place June 2 and 3. Tickets are $50 per person and include food and beer. For more information, visit 2015.barcrawl.eventbrite.com.
