Empowering. Enriching. Motivating.

That’s the idea behind the Women’s Enrichment Series that features Indiana women who have “broken the mold.” 

Pegg Kennedy, Propylaeum Board Member and Chair of the Women’s Enrichment Series, tells us more:

Women’s Enrichment Series kicks off with Women4Change founders

-The Indianapolis Propylaeum is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing educational and cultural opportunities for women and the community and to maintain and preserving the historic Propylaeum located at 14th & Delaware in Indianapolis.
-The Propylaeum was founded in 1888 by May Wright Sewall, a nationally-renowned suffragist and speaker, and a small group of women. 
-The organization is located in a 16,000 square-foot home on the National Registrer of Historic Places. The home is open to the public for tours, weddings, luncheons, and other private events. There is also a Café open to the public for lunch. Monday-Friday 11am-2pm
-As part of the organization’s efforts to empower women, each year they hold the Marilyn K. Glick Women’s Enrichment Series, a three-part lecture series.

-This is an annual, three-part lecture series that features Indiana women who have “broken the mold.”
-The series offers a chance for the community to take part in an intimate conversation with influential women in the community. Past and present speakers have been philanthropists, pioneers in the judiciary, corporate sector leaders, entrepreneurs, musicians and activists.
Sponsored for the third consecutive year by Marianne Glick, in honor of her mother Marilyn.
– The Series inspires the next generation of female leaders by providing them with direct access to today’s leaders who have overcome barriers to attain success.

Women’s Enrichment Series kicks off with Women4Change founders

-Dates and speakers for three-part lecture series are:
•    October 25, 2018, 5:00 p.m. – Jennifer Nelson Williams and Rabbie Sandy Sasso
These two women are founders of Women4Change, a non-partisan organization formed to find ways to protect American freedoms and to become a voice for women in the state
•    February 21, 2019, 5:00 p.m. – Dr. Lisa Harris, CEO of Eskenazi Health Visionary leader of the new Eskenazi Health System championing a healthy lifestyle and healthcare for the poor.
•    April 25, 2019, 5:00 p.m. – Bishop Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows, First African American woman to head a diocese of the Episcopal Church worldwide

-Tickets are $40 per event or $100 for all three lectures. VIP tickets are $75 per event or $200 for all three events and includes a meet and greet reception with the speakers and reserved seating for the presentation.

About The Indianapolis Propylaeum
In 1888 May Wright Sewall and a small group of women founded the Propylaeum for the purpose of “providing a love of literature, music, science and the fine arts; to emphasize a sense of civic responsibility and to furnish our city with a women’s social and cultural center.” The organization has operated continuously since then, and in 1973 the Propylaeum building located at 1410 North Delaware St. in Indianapolis was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
