Enjoy whiskey all summer long with these two refreshing cocktails
Often thought as a winter spirit, whiskey can be enjoyed all summer long as well, and Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey Brand Ambassador Donna Stewart is here to prove it.
Donna is mixing things ups with a demonstration of two refreshing seasonal cocktails, Elevenses and Gold Rush, to beat the summer heat.
Recipes
Elevenses:
- 2 parts Tullamore D.E.W. Original
- 4 muddled raspberries (or 2 tsp of Raspberry Jam)
- 1.75 parts breakfast tea, strongly brewed
- .75 parts lemon juice
Method: Shake all ingredients over ice and served on the rocks. Add a lemon wheel to garnish.
Gold Rush:
- 2 parts Tullamore D.E.W. Original
- 0.75 parts Fresh Lemon Juice
- 0.75 parts Honey Syrup
- Lemon Twist
Method: Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker. Shake until well chilled, about 10 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled old-fashioned glass, garnish with a lemon twist.
Donna was raised in Dublin (with a fine accent to prove it!) and is an expert on all things Irish whiskey.
Her lucky number is three, she was born on the third, has three sisters and she claims to see the number everywhere. It was only fate that her favorite whiskey ended up being triple blended Tullamore D.E.W.
