Avi8or Adventures goes indoor to check out North Mass Boulder
Despite the cold snap we’ve had here in Indianapolis, which has shut down the majority of outdoor adventures, out at north mass boulder, there are some Hoosiers who know a good indoor adventure when they see one. Their adventure of choice happens to be bouldering.
Bouldering is similar to rock climbing but instead of wearing harnesses and climbing up 50 to 75 feet high, you skip the safety equipment and only focus on climbing up, over and under walls around 10 to 20 feet tall. All while knowing you have a safe squishy floor to fall down onto if you do end up slipping.
At north mass boulder, their main bouldering gym has dozens upon dozens of climbing walls. Allowing multiple walls of all experience levels from beginner to expert and anything in-between. Levels are split up into different colored rocks on the wall
Thinking about giving it a try yourself? A day pass to climb and rent shoes will run you around 25-30 bucks. or you could join north mass boulder for around 75 bucks a month. Members can take full advantage of their indoor gym and fitness classes on the other side of the building. There’s also a cafe atop the gym to visit where you can grab a bite to eat or refreshing drink or simply work on your laptop while in a fun environment.

I know it can be hard to make it out of the house and into a gym on these frigid days, that’s why you might as well make going to the gym an adventure!
