Daughters With Dignity nonprofit is focused on mentoring, inspiring teen girls

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A new nonprofit hopes to impact, influence and inspire teenage girls. It’s called Daughters with Dignity.

Ashley Reeves and Rem Tally created Daughters With Dignity to help young girls learn the importance of education and self-care, know proper etiquette and understand financial freedom.

“In high school, I always noticed there were girls who didn’t have guidance, so that just pretty much motivated me to start my own girl group,” Reeves said.

Every month, Reeves and Talley host a virtual Zoom meeting to stay connected to the youth. They have a different topic of discussion every month, along with community service meetings.

Since September is Self-Awareness Month, the group decided to launch its first-ever ‘Self-Awareness 3K’ walk and run event Saturday at Northwestway Park, 5253 W. 62nd St. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Daughters with Dignity is using the event to give away a laptop as a prize to help facilitate students who are doing virtual learning.
