Coroner IDs 17-year-old boy killed in shooting in Lawrence
UPDATE: According to the Marion County Coroner’s Office, a 17-year-old boy who was shot around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of North Franklin Road and Pendleton Pike in Lawrence has died.
The victim has been identified as Keshawn Neely. The coroner says Neely died from a gunshot wound.
No other details were released by the coroner.
LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) – A boy is in critical condition after an overnight shooting in Lawrence, according to the Lawrence Police Department.
Just before 12:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of North Franklin Road and Pendleton Pike for a report of shots fired.
Once on the scene, police located the boy who had been shot. The juvenile was then transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital for treatment.
It’s unclear what led up to the shooting.
Police have not released the victim’s age, just saying that he’s a juvenile.
No possible suspect information has been released.
