IMPD cautions against donations for missing 8-month-old girl

​INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is urging caution before donating to solicitations that relate to criminal investigations. 

In particular, IMPD said, the case involving surrounding 8-month-old Amiah Robertson. Police have said the girl was last seen on March 9 with her mother’s boyfriend, Robert Lyons. Robertson was first reported missing March 16. On Saturday, police said the case is being investigated as a homicide. 

IMPD said in a news release that it “would like to remind the public to use caution when donations are solicited for activities surrounding investigations, such as for search parties. The IMPD would also like to remind the public that we do not solicit for donations in regards to investigations or to assist in area searches.” 

The release did not indicate that any such solicitations have occurred.

“The IMPD would also like to take this opportunity to remind the public that any information regarding the Amiah Robertson case will come from official departmental channels, such as Nixle releases, press briefings, and/or social media,” the release said.
