IMPD: Man dies after shooting at apartments on city’s west side
UPDATE: On Tuesday the Marion County Coroner’s office identified the person shot at Stacey O. Branch Jr., 24.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man died after a shooting Friday evening on the city’s west side, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers say.
IMPD received reports of a shooting just before 10 p.m. in the 5900 block of Fieldcrest Lane. That’s in the Cloverleaf Apartments northeast of the interchange of I-465 and West Washington Street.
Officers found a man with gunshot wounds. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services arrived and took the man to a local hospital in critical condition. He died several hours later.
Police say no arrest has been made and there isn’t a known threat to the area.
The man’s identified and his exact cause of death will be determined by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
