IMPD investigating several overnight shootings

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating several overnight shootings.

According to IMPD, police responded to a call of a person shot in the 6000 block of Windsor Driver just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday night. They soon discovered a 19-year-old male had been shoot, who was rushed into surgery at IU Health Methodist Hospital.  He remains in critical condition.

After police responded to this shooting, a second person was said to have been shot as well.

Police say the second individual shot was a 35-year-old male in the 4000 block of North Grand Avenue.  This person was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in good condition.

Also, a third person, a 34-year-old male victim walked into Community Hospital East with a minor graze wound.

Then a fourth person, a woman was confirmed shot in the thigh and calf just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning in the 3000 block of Breakwater Drive.

This shooting is thought to have started from a disturbance at the Run Inn Bar in the 3400. Police say the suspect followed the victim and several shots were fired at the victim’s car. The victim was struck and then drove to the Breakwater address.

According to police, there may be a connection between the shootings in which the 19, the 34 and the 35-year-old were injured.   They are looking into the possibility that they may have shot each other.

Police say this shooting is thought to have happened near East 21 Street and North Arlington Avenue.
