IMPD officer takes plea deal, won’t serve any jail time

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer will serve no jail time after helping to hide a criminal’s girlfriend who had warrants out for her arrest.

IMPD Officer Jason Thomas received a one-year suspended sentence for his part in the crime.

Also, as part of the plea deal, charges for providing false information to police were dropped.

Thomas was originally arrested following an investigation by IMPD’s Special Investigation Unit.
