ELKHART, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – A pair of anonymous donors using the pseudonym “Secret Santa” have made a major donation to support Elkhart County. The Community Foundation of Elkhart County says a local businessman and his wife have made a $300,000 donation to help area nonprofit organizations and community members amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The foundation says the donation is being divided three ways: The COVID-19 Community Response Fund, and two nonprofits, Faith Mission and Church Community Services, which provide homeless services, emergency assistance, and job training, among others.

The anonymous donors say, “Nothing would please us more than to play second fiddle, to be thought of as elves when the Santas of Elkhart County who can really make a difference step up.”

The foundation says the couple made similar $300,000 donations in 2009 and 2011 under the same pseudonym.
