Inmate found unresponsive in Pendleton jail cell

PENDLETON, Ind. (WISH) – An inmate is dead after being found unresponsive in his cell at the Pendleton Correctional Facility.

According to the Pendleton Correctional Facility, staff found Michael Gibson unresponsive in his cell on Wednesday, March 20.

Life-saving attempts were made but Gibson, who was serving life without parole for a number of offensives, including murder, was pronounced dead.

The facility says foul play is not suspected. The coroner will be working to determine the cause of death.
