Man hands out money to strangers in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man in east Nashville went around passing out money Sunday afternoon at numerous businesses.
The mystery man passed out money at nearly every spot in 5 Points including; Red Door, 3 crow Bar, 5 Points Pizza, Batter’d and Fried and Tenn Sixteen.
Rachel Moan was working the lunch shift when he came in to Tenn Sixteen and passed out money to all of the employees.
“He didn’t have a specific message other than ‘because I can and I just want to,’” Moan said.
She said he returned a couple of hours later and put $20 bills on the tables for patrons.
He also hit Aldi’s, where several people got $50 bills.
“I know one lady, he put down a $50 before she paid for her groceries and she seemed like she was really overwhelmed and a lot of people were like ‘oh it’s just a blessing this is just like an answered prayer today’, so that was really cool,” store associate Haley Pool told WKRN-TV
Pool, who received $20, said he seemed to be in a hurry and he didn’t have much to say.
“He was just like ‘I’m giving my money away.”
The motive behind his act of kindness remains a mystery, but there’s no doubt his gesture left a lot of people smiling.
“He made all our days really. It was as simple as that. It was just nice to get a gift like that when you weren’t expecting it,” smiled Moan.
