Annual breakfast connects Indiana legislators, Latino community leaders

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Members of the Latino community will have a chance to bring their concerns directly to legislators Tuesday at an annual breakfast.

Multicultural contributor Gloria Jimenez joined WISH-TV’s Phil Sanchez for a spotlight on the Indiana Latino Legislative Breakfast.

Jimenez says the event has been going on for more than 10 years and keeps growing. The event is important because it offers an opportunity to talk about real issues between state legislators and leaders in the community.

Topics of concern include safety, access to good jobs and quality of education.

Jimenez said the other concerns in the Latino and Hispanic community touch on state tuition for undocumented students and the importance of having driver’s licenses.

All these issues may come up at the Indiana Latino Legislative Breakfast Tuesday morning.
