Police release photo of suspect who tried to rob grocery store
NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) The New Haven Police Department released photos of a man believed to have knocked down a clerk in an attempt to get cash a grocery store early Monday morning.
According to a news release issued Thursday morning, police were called to the Kroger located in the 800 block of Lincoln Highway West at around 1:00 a.m. on the report of an attempted robbery. Police were told that the man had entered the self checkout area and asked an employee for change. The man then knocked the employee to the ground and tried to get access to the cash drawer. When he was unable to, the man ran out of the store to a vehicle in a nearby parking lot. The clerk was not seriously injured.
The man is described as being being about 5′ 7″ tall with brown hair. Anyone who thinks they might know who the person in the photo is asked to call the New Haven Police Department at (260) 748-7080.
