Report: Dog the Bounty Hunter to assist in search for man who threatened President Trump

MANSFIELD, Ohio (WCMH) — Dog the Bounty Hunter may be coming to town to help with the search for fugitive Shawn Christy.

Duane Chapman, also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter told the Mansfield News Journal that he was retained by an anonymous friend of the Christy family.

“I have a very hot lead,” Chapman told the paper. “My goal is not to shoot him but get him to surrender.”

FBI agents, US Marshals, and the U.S. Secret Service are searching for Shawn Christy after they said he made threats to President Trump and other law enforcement officers. U.S. Marshals have said, Christy threatened former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and was charged in federal court.

He also has warrants out of Pennsylvania.

According to police, Christy crashed a stolen car over the weekend.

Christy has a history of stealing vehicles and burglarizing residences.  Make sure your residences and vehicles are secured.  Ensure no keys are left in vehicles. Report any suspicious individuals or activity by contacting 911 or 419-756-2222.
