Seymour HS: No danger after school placed on lockdown

SEYMOUR, Ind. (WISH) — Seymour High School was placed lockdown as the police department investigated a report of a student with a gun on campus.

Seymour Community Schools posted on Facebook that administrators and school resource officers were made aware of a threat.

“At no time were any Seymour High School students, staff, or facilities in danger,” the post read. “Our society has evolved to the point that any and every threat is taken seriously and we deal with them in a swift and definitive manner. We do not take any threat lightly and are very appreciative of students who ‘see something, say something.’”

Earlier in the afternoon, the Seymour Police Department said the school was on a “hard lockdown” and that it was not an active shooter situation.
