Speedway residents survey damage after storms

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) – Daybreak Tuesday revealed the damage strong storms left behind in Speedway.

Neighbors told 24-Hour News 8 they didn’t realize how bad the damage was until they went outside as the sun came up. While the storm was passing, they said they didn’t see anything serious.

Residents agree that a lot of the trees were blown over because the ground was so saturated from the past week of rain. Large trees in the area were uprooted, many falling on homes, power lines and across roadways.

By 6:30 a.m., people were already outside taking pictures of the damage, to submit to their insurance companies.
