Vermillion Co. man arrested for possession of a schedule 4 substance

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest after pills were found inside his vehicle.

Officials reported that during a drug investigation, a suspicious white Ford Ranger was seen pulling into different business locations and then leaving after a short amount of time.

The driver would get out of the vehicle and stand beside it for a few minutes at each location, but then get back into the vehicle and drive to another location. When he noticed police in the area, he took off on State Road 163, where he was later stopped.

Officers searched the vehicle and found prescription pills that were not prescribed to him. The driver was identified as Jeffery Lowe, 35 from Universal.

Lowe’s record also showed that he was a habitual traffic violator.

He was arrested for possession of a schedule for substance and operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator. Officials also reported that Lowe was to be on home detention at the time of his arrest.

Lowe was taken to the Vermillion County Jail with bond set at $10,000.
