BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Property damage was reported after protesters involved in the Black Lives Matter movement at Indiana University rallied and blocked traffic for about 30 minutes before dispersing.

The Herald-Times reports protesters Monday night flung themselves in front of cars, banged on hoods and yelled at drivers in Bloomington. Video shared on social media by Andrew Biller showed one motorist trying to drive through the crowd.

The demonstration started with speakers and a balloon release before hundreds stopped traffic by marching through downtown streets. No arrests were reported.

Protesters were unsatisfied with several issues, including a city police investigation into the 2015 death of Indiana University student Joseph Smedley of Indianapolis, whose drowning death was ruled a suicide. Police say foul play wasn’t suspected in his death.
