Butler, Notre Dame prep for Saturday clash
PITTSBURGH (WISH) — Notre Dame and Butler are gearing up for a huge battle for bragging rights in the Hoosier state and a spot in the Sweet 16.
While these two have met more than 100 times over the years, this is the first time they’ll meet in the NCAA tournament.
The two hit the practice floor in Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon for a closed practice. Each expect a close, tough battle.
“They’re a terrific team,” said Butler head coach Chris Holtmann. “I think they’re the best offensive team that we will have played this year.”
“These are two good teams going at it. Two confident teams,” said Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey.
Butler guard Roosevelt Jones will start Saturday night despite a sprained knee suffered against Texas.
