Cloudy, quiet week ahead

Monday evening forecast

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — January chill with gloomy conditions will dominate the weather pattern as central Indiana wraps up the month this week.

Monday night:

Mostly cloudy conditions will hang around, as a stubborn lower-level cloud deck hovers over much of the northern Midwest.

Despite this, temperatures still should slide to the middle to upper 20s overnight under quiet conditions and a calm wind.

Tuesday:

More of the same, with lower level clouds expected for much of the day. A few peeks of sun might be possible. Highs will finish off the middle 30s.

End of the week:

Expect gradually warming temperatures from Wednesday through Friday, as highs should run back to the lower 40s by Thursday afternoon. Generally mostly cloudy conditions will be expected through Friday.

Weekend:

Another system moves in Friday night into Saturday, bringing yet again another round of wintry mix across the region. Highs will hit the mid 30s Saturday and jump to the lower 40s on Sunday.

8 day forecast:

Mild temps are on the way for the open of the workweek, with temperatures surging to the middle if not upper 40s (some models want to send us as high as the 50s!). Tehre are some hints of colder air building in by the middle and end of the week, but still many questions remain about a chilly solution to start off the month of February.
