Memorial Day weekend to be very warm with several storm chances

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We finally got to see some sunshine across central Indiana with much warmer temperatures. An active memorial day weekend is ahead with summerlike temperatures.

Friday night:

Enjoy a comfortable night under mostly cloudy skies with light winds out of the south. Lows will bottom out in the low 60s.

Saturday:

We will have partly cloudy skies with an increase in humidity throughout the day. This increase in humidity will make it feel summerlike with the very warm afternoon temperatures we are expecting for central Indiana. Isolated showers and storms are possible in the afternoon hours becoming more scattered later in the evening hours.

There is the chance for an isolated strong to severe storm in the northern half of the state as there is a Marginal Risk for severe weather for the previously mentioned region. Main threats are isolated damaging winds and hail, but a brief tornado cannot be ruled out for the far northwestern portion of central Indiana.

Highs will climb into the low 80s.

Sunday:

We look to have one of the warmest weather days of the year with the humidity sticking around and making feel muggy outside. We will track several rounds for showers and storms through Sunday afternoon.

Highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s.

8 Day Forecast:

The heat and humidity will continue through the first part of the new work week with Monday (Memorial Day) and Tuesday reaching the upper 80s for our high temperatures. Daily rain chances are in place through midweek before a cold front pushes in towards the end of the work week. This front will bring in cooler conditions to end the work week next week.
