Windy, warmer with a few showers Monday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)–We’re in store for a warmer but windy Monday.

TONIGHT: We finally saw some sunshine to end out the weekend. Skies stay partly cloudy this evening but clouds increase during the overnight hours. Temperatures fall into the middle 30s.

MONDAY: Look for mostly cloudy skies on Monday. There’s a slight chance for a few scattered showers. Most of the precipitation should be in the form of rain showers but there may also be a few scattered flurries. It’s going to be windy and warmer.

Winds will gust at times close to 30 miles per hour in the afternoon. Highs climb into the middle 40s.

MONDAY NIGHT: Skies stay mostly cloudy for the overnight hours. There may be a few breaks just long enough to see the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction. It will stay breezy with lows near 30.

TUESDAY: Skies remain mostly sunny during the day on Tuesday. Highs climb into the middle 40s.

8DAY FORECAST: A storm system is set to arrive Wednesday into Thursday. Ahead of the storm it will be windy and warm on Wednesday with highs likely climbing into the lower 50s. Right now it looks like rain will be possible late Wednesday before changing over to snow early Thursday. It all depends on the timing of the front. Some minor snowfall accumulations will be possible on Thursday so there is a chance we may see a white Christmas. Bitterly cold air arrives Thursday and Friday with highs staying in the 20s. It looks like early Christmas morning wind chill values will be in the single digits.
