Avoidance and Inadequacy with kids and how parents can approach it

Trying to get your kiddo to get their room picked up? Are you struggling with pushback?

Parenting Coach Michelle Gambs shares the difference between avoidance and inadequacy with kids– but what is the difference and how do we approach them differently?

AVOIDANCE: It is when the child is CAPABLE of the task and is not doing it. (we adults do the same thing). Resistance is part of being human. We have to work through it.

INADEQUACY: Is when the task in front of me is overwhelming, and I am feeling somewhat paralyzed to even begin it because it feels so big.
