Meet a ‘puppy raiser’ for Canine Companion for Independence
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — PetPalsTV host Patty Spitler joins us along with ‘puppy raiser’ Brandt Carter.
She raises puppies to be service dogs through Canine Companion for Independence. In an 18-month training period, the pups will learn 30 commands.
But because of the difficulty of the training and the responsibility of being a service dog, only 40% make it to graduation.
