2 more to face charges in IHOP incident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Prosecutors will file charges against two other people in connection to an incident at a Fort Wayne IHOP restaurant that was captured on cell phone video that went viral.

Shana Hancock and some friends were at the IHOP on Coldwater Road in the early morning hours of April 12, when a Fort Wayne police officer who was working security asked her to leave. She was reportedly drunk and causing a scene. Hancock refused, and another customer recorded the exchange between her and Officer Stephen Ealing. Someone posted the video on Facebook and it quickly went viral.

Officer Ealing was eventually able to arrest Hancock in the parking lot, where a large group of people had gathered. She appeared in court Monday, April 20 and faces charges of battery against a public safety officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication and criminal mischief.

Tuesday night, police served warrants on two other people who were there during the incident.

Officers arrested 33-year-old Nikkole Baker. She’s facing charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

A warrant has been issued for Dustin Sunderland, 36, but he hasn’t been taken into custody. He’s facing charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and driving while suspended.
