65 IMPD recruits to graduate Friday
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – 65 members of the 11th IMPD recruit class are graduating Friday afternoon.
The 11th IMPD Recruit Class Commencement Ceremony is being held at the Pike Performing Arts Center at 1 p.m.
Mayor Joe Hogsett and Chief Riggs will speak at the graduation.
The 65 members were sworn-in on June 8, 2015.
The officers have been assigned to the Training Division for the past 47 weeks.
The recruit training curriculum consists of:
- 1,048 hours of classroom and scenario based training in a classroom setting
- 20 weeks of on-the-job training in the Field Training Program
Upon their graduation, the officers will be re-assigned to the Operations Division, where they will begin patrolling the neighborhoods of Indianapolis.
