Boy with Cystic fibrosis becomes superhero for a day
(CNN) – Gotham City has Batman. But, Sydney, Australia has “Iron Boy.”
Nine-year-old Domenic, who is battling Cystic fibrosis, always wanted to be a superhero.
So, Australian police and Make-A-Wish hatched a plan to make that happen.
Police put Domenic in an Iron Man costume and sent him on a mission to rescue a kidnapped TV reporter.
Domenic fought villains played by actors and pulled off the rescue.
He later received a special honor from police.
“It’s a real pleasure. I’m really, really proud to present to you the medal of valor,” an unidentified police official said.
A number of celebrities sent tweets to support Domenic, including Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man in the hit movies.
