Colts keep safety Clayton Geathers, 9th free agent to re-sign

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After reportedly taking free agent visits to find out his worth, Indianapolis Colts safety Clayton Geathers was re-signed, the team announced.

The 6-feet-2, 220-pound Geathers has played in 41 career games with 24 starts and totaled 180 tackles.

In 2018, the Colts said, Geathers started all 12 games he appeared in and registered a career-high 86 tackles (59 solo) and added 1.0 tackle for loss, three passes defensed and one forced fumble. He ranked third on the team in tackles. Geathers started the Colts’ two postseason contests and registered 19 tackles (13 solo) and one pass defensed.

The Associated Press said Geathers is the ninth free agent Indy has re-signed this offseason. The list includes Adam Vinatieri, the NFL’s career scoring leader, right guard Mark Glowinski, defensive tackle Margus Hunt and cornerback Pierre Desir.
