Driver arrested, faces theft and DUI charges

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – One man was arrested in Bartholomew County for theft and driving under the influence.

Just before 12:30 p.m., a convenience store clerk reported after police after noticing Johnathan L. Robertson was acting intoxicated inside the store.

After the clerk read off the suspect’s license plate number, they discovered the car had been reported as stolen the night before in Vigo County.

According to police,Johnathan L. Robertson disobeyed officers orders and  refused to stay in his vehicle during the stop.

Thought to be under the influence of narcotics, Robertson began dancing around and then complied with officers orders.

As the traffic stop continued,police soon discovered that Robertson was driving with a suspended license.

Robertson was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital where blood was drawn.

Robertson was then transported to Bartholomew County Jail and charged with theft and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

His bond has been set at $10,000.
