Father of victim of gun violence calls senate vote ‘treason’

(WISH) – The father of a victim of gun violence said the senate vote on the gun control measures Monday is nothing but “a treason.”

Andy Parker lost his daughter Alison in a shooting last September, when a gunman opened fire while she was reporting live in Virginia. Her photographer also died in the attack.

Monday night Parker said it’s not about taking guns from rightful owners.

“The vast majority of the American people want sensible gun legislation, they want background checks. We’re not coming after everybody’s guns, we just want to keep guns out of the wrong hands and when these — when these politicians reject the will of the American people, it undermines the government, it’s treason,” Parker said.

Parker has been a vocal advocate for gun control since the shooting that killed his daughter.
