House fire claims two dogs’ lives on Monday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two pet dogs died in a fire on near east side on Monday afternoon, the Indianapolis Fire Department stated.

IFD were called to a house fire on the 5900 block of East 28th Street at approximately 3:39 p.m.

When fire crews arrived, both fire and smoke were showing. Crews agressively attacked the fire and it was under control within 10 minutes.

IFD reported that the homeowner, his girlfriend and a 9-year-old child were away from the home when the fire started.

Despite rescuscitation efforts, two dogs, a Pit Bull named “Bigguns” and an English Bulldog named “Pebbles”, perished in the fire.
