Great Day TV: The oldest living sentinel

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On Daybreak Saturday, Patty Spitler talked about the oldest living sentinel to stand guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

In October, Jack Eaton and his family visited Washington, D.C. where he got to see his name put on a plaque for being a sentinel.

“I think just seeing the look on his face, the big smiles because I know he did not expect it to be as big of a deal as it was,” said Eaton’s stepdaughter Brenda Warburton.

Jack recently celebrated his 101st birthday and has been isolating himself from family and friends amid the coronavirus pandemic.
