Hundreds gather to pray for missing Avon mom
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Hundreds of people came together for an evening of prayer for a missing Avon mom.
Najah Ferrell‘s family said she went to work on March 15 and never came back home.
On Wednesday night, family and friends went to Bethel Family Worship Center, where Ferrell belonged.
The vigil came a day after police found Ferrell’s car by West 86th Street and Michigan Road. Police had already found some of her belongings by Lafayette Road and Interstate 465.
“This is completely out of her character. This is something she does not do. We’re just devastated,“ said Nalini Eldridge, her cousin.
She said Ferrell was on her way to Panera Bread for her first day of work on March 15. She said the family does not think she ever made it.
Eldridge added that she has no idea what could have happened to Ferrell, who she called “one of the most responsible mothers“ she knows.
On the west side at Bethel Family Worship Center, it was a full house for song and for prayer.
At 1 p.m. Thursday, Avon Police Department is expected to give an update in Ferrell’s case.
