Locals see opportunity to rent out homes during Final Four
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Visit Indy predicts 60,000 tourists will head to Indianapolis for the Final Four Tournament. All 7,100 downtown hotel rooms are virtually rented. An increasing number of locals, are cashing in on fans by renting out their own homes.
Matt Huncker of Broad Ripple runs his own company. He travels often, and so he rents his home out using the website Airbnb. He also uses Airbnb to rent.
“So I put up my place on Airbnb, at least 2-3 times more inquiries than usual. My assistant saw that and increased the price for that weekend because she realized all the places were getting booked up,” said Huncker.
