Mild weekend, chance of snow next week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Get ready for a fantastic weather weekend across central Indiana. Temperatures should run around 10 degrees above average both Saturday and Sunday, topping out in the mid to upper 40s across central Indiana.

A mix of sun and clouds is expected for much of Saturday. Clouds will be on the increase through the evening hours and into Sunday, making for mostly cloudy skies to wrap up the weekend.

A quick-moving system will slide into the state Sunday night, which could squeeze out a few light sprinkles and snow showers.

A much colder pattern will set up across the Midwest starting Monday. A more vigorous system will move through central Indiana Monday, bring snow showers to the area. Lighter accumulations of 1-2″ is expected, but certainly enough to cause some problems on the roads as we head back to work.

Bitter cold temperatures will hang around for much of next week.
