INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Here’s a look at Monday’s business headlines.
Homeowners
Indiana was named one of the best states to be a homeowner.
SmartAssest compared all 50 states based on 10 measurements, including median price per square foot, home value appreciation, ration of home value to income, foreclosures per 10,000 homes, average annual homeowners and burglary rate.
Wyoming was tops, Connecticut was the worst.
Peloton
The head of Peloton says he thinks the company will have 100 million users within 10 years.
The company best known for its subscription, on-demand bike workouts reported its first-ever profitable quarter as people exercised from home.
Sony
Sony’s Xperia 5 II is probably coming soon.
The company has announced a virtual event for Thursday, in which it will introduce a “new addition to the Xperia flagship range.”
Sony shared no other information about the device but it’ll probably be Xperia 5 II which has been thoroughly leaked over the past couple of weeks.
Home prices
The U.S. median home sale price increase 13% from 2019 to $319,000 – the highest one record, according to a new report from RedFin.
This 13% year-over-year increase was the largest since Oct. 2013.
According to the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors Mibor, inventory in July 2020 is almost a full month less than July 2019.
Johnson and Shelby counties had the homes that sold the quickest.
Applications for home construction permits and single-family building permits are up 12% so far in 2020 compared to 2019.
