Police: Man hit in Connersville and in critical condition
CONNERSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – A man was struck while on his trash pickup route on State Road 44 on Tuesday near Connersville.
Stephen Baugh, 24, Connersville, Ind., was walking across State Road 44, back to his CGS Services trash truck when he was struck by a 1988 Chevy Nova.
The Nova was driven by Maxwell Kalkhoff, 22, who is also from Connersville.
Indiana State Police said that they were reconstructing the accident, and asked motorists to avoid the area if possible. They said that drivers should expect long delays.
The victim was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment in critical condition.
The accident caused traffic delays for morning commuters.
