Showers and thunderstorms Sunday
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After a sunny, seasonal day, central Indiana will see moderate to heavy rain late Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Clouds continue to stick around through the evening hours with temperatures in the 50s.
Rain returns to the area after midnight and continues for the first part of the day Sunday.
We’ll get a few dry hours by late Sunday morning before more scattered showers and even a few thunderstorms return to the area by the afternoon.
It looks like any severe weather will stay south and east of Indianapolis. Southeastern parts of the state are under a marginal and slight risk of severe storms.
Rainfall amounts from this storm system may approach 1 inch in many spots. Areas south and east of the city will see the potential for the heaviest amounts of rain.
On Sunday, look for mostly cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms with highs staying in the upper 40s close to 50 here in Indianapolis.
A sharp temperature gradient is likely. Areas in the northern part of the state will stay in the lower 40s while areas south will soar into the 60s.
Winds will be breezy during the day and may gust up to 25 mph at times.
Clouds stick around for the first part of Monday with some clearing later in the afternoon. It will be cool with highs in the 50s.
Temperatures warm up Tuesday and Wednesday with mostly cloudy skies. Showers and thunderstorms return to the area on Thursday. Scattered showers are possible Friday and Saturday with highs in the 50s.
