Stolen motor home from Indiana recovered in Georgia

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. (WTWO) — A stolen motor home from Greene County, Indiana, has been recovered in Georgia.

In response to a tip received by the Sullivan County, Indiana, Sheriff’s Office late Tuesday, Greene County investigators were able to track the stolen motor home to a location in Bartow County, Georgia.

Based on that information, deputies with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia were able to locate the motor home. The home was in the possession of an individual later identified as Derrick Markham.

Markham was taken into custody and is facing charges in Bartow County.

Pending extradition, he will be returned to Greene County to face charges of burglary, auto theft and criminal mischief.

Sheriff Clark Cottom said investigators learned that Markham had been holed up in the stolen RV this past weekend. This was in the Cass area, northeast of Dugger in Sullivan County.

Sullivan County investigators searched the Cass area Monday and Tuesday, but Markham had already left the area by that time.
