Warm and windy day

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Cloudy and breezy start to the morning with temperatures ranging from the upper 30s in northern Indiana to the lower 50s in southern Indiana. A warm front will lift through the day ushering in very warm, and unstable air.

Winds will also begin to crank up with a Wind Advisory for portions of the state from 11 am to 8 pm Thursday night. Winds will be gusting up to 45-50 mph. Should be a dry day with lots of clouds through the afternoon. Highs will soar to the upper 70s with some locations nearing 80!

The Indians home opener Thursday night will be a dry one but very windy with temperatures falling to the lower 70s. A cold front will approach the state closer to midnight and overnight sparking storms. We have a marginal risk of strong to severe storms with the main threat being damaging winds and large hail. The storms will move through the metro area closer to 4-5 a.m. The storms will weaken once it shifts to eastern parts of the state.

Indianapolis (WISH) 

Friday afternoon will be a dry one but blustery and cool. Highs will drop to the lower 60s with winds out of the west at 20-25 mph.

This weekend will be a cool one with highs a bit below the seasonal low Saturday. Highs are expected to top out in the lower 60s with partly sunny skies. Sunday scattered storms return with highs running even cooler in the lower to mid-50s.

Next week will be active with highs warming through the 60s with showers chances to end the work week next week.
