Heat and humidity continues, rain chances to increase

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A hot and humid Tuesday is in the books across the state.

Tuesday night:

A few isolated storms are possible north of Indianapolis this evening. Storm chances will diminish overnight.

Another warm night is ahead with lows dipping into the low 70s.

Wednesday:

Prepare for another hot and humid day across central Indiana with heat index values in the upper 90s to possibly over 100°. Highs will top out in the low 90s.

Thursday:

Remnant moisture from a tropical system will bring scattered shower and storm chances for our Thursday. Showers will be on and off throughout the day.

Isolated strong to severe storms are not out of the question north of interstate 70. Main threats are damaging winds and hail.

Highs will rise into the upper 80s.

8 Day Forecast:

An active weather trend will be the story this weekend with several rounds of rain and storms. High temperatures will back off into the upper 70s to low 80s due to the rain chances. Rain chances and below normal temperatures will stick around into next week.
