Heavy rain prompts flood warnings, watches across Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Heavy rainfall on Friday morning produced an excess of two inches over portions of central and southern Indiana causing several areas to see a lot of standing water and flood warnings.

A flood warning remains in effect for several counties in southern Indiana until 2 p.m. Friday. A flash flood watch went into effect at 11 a.m. and runs through Saturday for the southern third of the state including Bedford and Seymour.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Bill will move into the state Friday evening and Saturday morning prompting additional heavy rain over the southern half of the state.

Drier weather should return by Saturday afternoon but more storms are in the forecast on Fathers Day along with the threat for strong storms Sunday afternoon.
