Return to summer heat ahead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It has been a magnificent Friday for us with comfortable air and plenty of sunshine. This pleasant weather trend that we have been riding with will come to an end for the upcoming weekend as we are tracking the return of the heat.

Friday night: Enjoy another refreshing night under mostly clear skies. Winds will remain light as lows dip into the upper 50s.

Saturday: We turn it up a notch with our temperatures for Saturday. Although it will be an above average afternoon, humidity values will not be extraordinarily high. However, we will see a slight uptick in the humidity regardless. Highs will rise into the mid 80s in what will feel like a general summer day.

Sunday: The warming trend continues into our Sunday, and we will also see winds kick up a bit by Sunday afternoon. The breezy winds out of the south will help push temperatures towards the 90° mark for most areas across the state. If you are planning on heading out to the Colts first game of the season, prepare for a hot and breezy afternoon.

8 Day Forecast: Hot weather looks to stick around through the first half of next week with highs in the low 90s. Rain and storm chances are set to return late Monday and continue through midweek next week. As rain chances move back in, cooler air will sink into the state before we quickly ramp back up to near 90 next Saturday.
