Windy and stormy end to the weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)–Clouds return later this evening with storms and strong winds for Sunday.

TONIGHT: A few scattered showers will be possible this evening. Look for mostly cloudy skies with lows falling into the upper 40s close to 50.

SUNDAY: We’ll see a few scattered showers on Easter Sunday morning. Clouds stick around for much of the day. It’s going to be a bit breezy with winds gusting close to 20 mph at times. A few thunderstorms will be possible later in the afternoon. Highs climb into the lower 60s which is right around normal for this time of the year.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Low pressure moves closer to central Indiana Sunday night. Showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible during the night. Some of the thunderstorms may be on the stronger side with gusty winds, heavy rainfall and an isolated tornado is possible in the southern part of the state. Winds begin to pick up. There’s a High Wind Watch in effect for Sunday night through Monday.

MONDAY: There’s a chance for a few early morning showers on Monday. Otherwise look for clouds to clear later in the afternoon. It’s going to be very windy. Sustained winds out of the west at 20-30 mph with gusts close to 50-60mph. Temperatures will be on the cooler side with highs in the upper 40s close to 50.

8DAY FORECAST: The cooler temperatures continue for the rest of the week. Highs stay in the 40s Tuesday with partly cloudy skies. Clouds return on Wednesday with a chance for a few showers. Highs slowly climb closer to normal for the first part of next weekend.
