Striking workers strike deal: Verizon employees return to work

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Thousands of striking Verizon employees will return to work Wednesday after reaching an agreement this weekend.

The contract agreement includes 1,300 new call center jobs, nearly 11 percent in raises over the next four years and the first contract for Verizon Wireless store workers.

The Communications Workers of America called the deal a victory for working families.

In most places, lines were less than 15 minutes.

American Airlines says 70,000 people have missed flights just this year due to long TSA lines. So airlines were not ready to say “mission accomplished” yet.
