Quiet weather pattern through midweek

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The week began with quiet weather, but  rain and snow chances will increase as we head into next weekend. 

Monday night:
Clouds will increase allowing skies to become partly cloudy overnight. Much colder conditions are expected Monday night as temperatures fall to the teens.

Tuesday: 
Skies will remain partly cloudy throughout the day. Expect afternoon high temperatures in the low 40s. 

Tuesday night:
Skies will become mostly cloudy, and temperatures will fall to the upper 20s.

Wednesday:
Light precipitation will develop with the chance for flurries early and a slight chance for afternoon drizzle. It will warm to the mid to upper 40s by afternoon. 

Thursday:
Scattered snow showers will be possible before sunrise, and rain showers will be possible during the afternoon. Slightly colder afternoon temperaures are expected. Temperatures will only warm to the upper 30s by afternoon. 

Friday: 
Light snow showers will linger into the early morning. For the afternoon, expect cloudy skies with temperatures in the low 40s. Light precipitation will once again develop at night. 

8 Day forecast:
Much colder air will sink into the state this weekend. Temperatures will remain below freezing and below average this weekend. Saturday is expected to be the warmer day with temperatures only in the low 30s. Sunday will be the colder day with afternoon high temperatures around 20 degrees. Light snow showers are possible Saturday and Sunday.
